The channel world is different

Channel, partnerships, and Nearbound are, in fact, all different.

And, historically, the role of each has served different eras.

Channel served the brand world in the where economy.

Partnerships emerged during the automation world in the how economy.

Nearbound emerged in the influence world in the who economy.

One is a business unit: channel.

The other is a department: partnerships.

The other are plays all departments can run: Nearbound.

The channel world is changing. The partner world is changing too.

They aren’t.

But partner programs and channel teams that want to adapt, can.

They can break down the business unit walls or departmental silos and serve each department — product, marketing, sales, and success — with Nearbound plays.
